Homeschool Resources

Here are a few of our favorite homeschool resources.

Any book listed here is one that I have personally read and reviewed.

Genesis- Finding our Roots by Ruth Beechick

We have been using this book for over a year and are loving every minute of it.

Here is an excerpt from the preface of this book.

"Who are we? Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going? Is there a God? What is He like? The true answers found in Genesis form the basic world view of informed and thinking Christians. Our view of these fundamental questions affects all our thinking, and only a right view will produce right thinking."

The Grapes of Math by Greg Tang
Mind-Stretching Math Riddles

This is a great way to help your kids use their multiplication skills. Heidi really enjoyed this book!

Here is an excerpt from the front inside jacket.

"Astound your family and friends by solving these math puzzles in the blink of an eye! How is this possible? By using a few simple but effective problem-solving techniques, finding answers to these challenging questions is quicker and easier than you could ever imagine."

How to Write, Recite and Delight in all Kinds of Poetry by Joy N. Hulme and Donna W. Guthrie
This is a book that we haveof each form used to help us have fun with and understand more about poetry. Different poetry forms are given and explained. Many examples by children of many ages are given in the book . I highly recommend this book.
